Can ping server but not map drive
WebDec 15, 2011 · The server will ping but I can't C$ or map to it (which I always do by IP not name). I also noticed it won't ping by name, only by IP. The laptop is connecting on wireless and getting a standard 192.168.1.x IP from the router. The network resource is on a 192.168.66 subnet (not really 66 but it's an example). WebNov 23, 2016 · With the firewall rules included in the question, you're allowing ICMP (which includes but is not limited to "ping") and SSH but reject everything else.
